Seven Sundays

Seven Sundays was founded by Taylor Cross in 2023 at the age of 27. Her love of curating vintage for herself as a hobby and her appreciation for quality sustainable fashion has always run deep. She wanted to bring a fresh, genuine, elevated concept to the city that shaped her, a space you'd only see on Pinterest or when traveling to large cities; something the Saskatoon market has never seen.

From there, the concept of Seven Sundays was born. What was first a pipe dream of hers, quickly turned to a reality when her partner (now Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer) Sam Murphy, slowly bought into the vision she had created on her 2022 vision board. Their opposing strong suits, education and personalities compliment each other perfectly, creating a dynamic duo that has brought them to share this dream with all of you. Together with their shop dog, Cruz, our founders welcome you to the Seven Sundays family.

Hygge Candles

About the Artisan

I have always loved burning candles around my house. Every room has at least one (or 3) candles and a diffuser! I chose soy blend candles after I started to pay attention to what was in the candles I was burning, and what I was breathing in. Many candles are made with synthetic paraffin wax which is unsustainable, and traditional candles contain lots of chemicals that produce toxins into the air. Soy wax candles are plant-based, last longer, and burn much cleaner compared to synthetic paraffin candles.

My love for candles inspired me to start making candles as a hobby during the pandemic. I could always see the “bigger picture” and was hopeful that I could make candles that mean something and share them with others! I wanted to make candles that are non-toxic and clean, so we can all enjoy burning candles with the peace of mind of knowing what is in the candles for myself, others, and our fur babies.

While I’m sitting and reading a book, or cleaning the house, lighting a candle just makes me so much more relaxed and happy in my home, which is exactly what Hygge means.

I have always preferred to support local artisans rather than a bigger company because I can feel the love and energy they pour into their products. That’s what I love about being an artisan; knowing how much work, effort and love I put into these products, and knowing that there are so many others out there who will appreciate and love them as much as I do!
